Mondial Neuman Celebrates 50 Years with largest Public Pink Diamond Exhibition In Australia

To mark the 50th year of Mondial Neuman in the diamond industry, the pink diamond specialists recently unveiled their complete collection of the rare Australian gems to the public for the first time ever. The sale and exhibition showcases a vast selection of pink diamonds acquired over many years from the Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia. Commemorating 50 fabulous years in the jewellery trade and the conclusion of the 26th annual Pink Diamond Tender, this is the largest public showcase of pink diamonds in Australia. The exhibition ran from Thursday November 4th to Sunday November 14th, 2010.

Especially chosen pink diamond jewellery and exceptionally rare individual pink diamonds from the Argyle Diamond Mine filled the store.. Co-owner, coloured diamond expert and gemmologist Michael Neuman, also conducted pink diamond workshops daily.

Each year, the Neuman family is invited to attend the Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, where the team is able to view and place bids on a selection of the mine’s finest loose pink diamonds. Held in various locations around the world, the diamonds on offer are the most intensely coloured pink diamonds over 0.50ct in size. Mondial Neuman has a long-standing relationship with the Argyle Diamond Mine stretching back more than 20 years.

Approximately 90 percent of the world’s pink diamonds are found in Rio Tinto’s Argyle Diamond Mine, making these exceptionally rare gems, an almost uniquely Australian product. Astonishingly, the amount of fine pink diamonds found in these mines each year would fit in the palm of your hand.

“Generally, the purer and more intense the pink colour, the higher the price tag,” says Michael Neuman. “We always try to purchase the pink diamonds that have this richness of colour as these are the rarest and result, long term, in a better investment for us and our customers.”
